Mike Gabelman comes to the Summit Legal Defenders office with extensive criminal defense experience in both state and federal courts.  In 2013, Mike began his career with the Lake County Public Defender’s Office, where he represented hundreds of clients in juvenile, municipal, common pleas and appellate courts.  He subsequently entered private practice, first with a Cleveland-area criminal defense firm and later founding his own criminal defense practice. 

In 2003, Mike earned his undergraduate degree in Music from the University of Michigan.  After a successful career touring and recording as a professional musician, he entered law school and earned his J.D. at Case Western Reserve University.  He is also an adjunct professor of law at Case Western Reserve, where he coaches the mock trial team.
